If there’s one site that shouts ‘first-world-problems’, it’s Pinterest. Full of the latest designer shoes, art, furniture and technology – it’s a great place to pin shiny things you like.

We shook up the Pinterest community by drawing their attention to the needs of some of the world’s poorest children. We created the profile of a 13 year old girl from Sierra Leone and filled her Pinterest board with the things she wanted. In contrast to other people’s pins, her desires were much more urgent. Food, water, a decent education – the basics of life.

Anyone with a Pinterest account could repin her items and spread her message via social media. They could make a difference by clicking on any of the items and be taken directly to a UNICEF donation page. The campaign was covered by Mashable.
