Mercedes-Benz asked us to re-energise their association with the British Open for a younger audience.
So our idea was to reinvent golf for a city environment – by using the smartphone itself as the club. To feel like you were playing real golf, we included elements of augmented reality. Our key insight was that golfers always practice their ‘air-swing’ so we used the gyro in the new iPhones to create an accurate swing tracking technology, the first of its kind.

We designed City Golf to be an app you would want to come back and play again and again, and share it with your friends. That’s why in multiplayer mode (up to four players) the results and location of each game can be shared across Facebook.
