As Innovation Director Rob ensures that digital innovation is a fundamental part of Weapon7’s creative thinking and ensures that the agency’s digital work sets the standard others are measured by.
Rob has been working in digital advertising since 1998, starting his career at Deimos Media as an unpaid-but-passionate web developer. He joined the tech department at Modem Media in 1999, and won a Cannes CyberLion Gold award for his technically innovative work on Lynx.
Over the next 5 years Rob worked on accounts including Philips, HP, and Unilever, ultimately progressing into the position of Tech Lead on the GM account launching Europe-wide campaigns for Opel cars.
His next move was to Ogilvy Interactive, working as the Tech Lead for Unilever, Castrol, and IBM. After 2 years Rob set up his own company, Sunburn, freelancing flash application builds, as well as UI and IA expertise, to agencies across London.
He joined Weapon7 as a paid-but-passionate freelancer working on the award winning Department for Transport, Christmas Anti Drink Drive campaign and was persuaded to stay.
